Showcase to resume March 4, 2017

The Annual Texas Western Swing Showcase held at the Bell County Expo in March each year for the past 19 years will resume next year on March 4, 2017. This year, the concert and dance is on hold with performers returning in 2017 for a presentation of Fiddle and Western Swing music at its finest.

Founder and Chairman, Nan Ray Retires

When Nan and Mitz Ray, along with their committee of volunteers, started this event, their vision was to continue this Texas born music for Western Swing music lovers across the state and to introduce this style of music to young and new music enthusiasts. Through the year long planning and tireless efforts of Mr. & Mrs. Ray, this event has grown to be one of the top events of its kind in the state of Texas Even after Mr. Ray's death nine years ago, Mrs. Ray continued to honor her husband's passion for fiddle music by bringing top professional musicians together annually to create a unique concert and dance format. Mrs. Ray has now chosen to retire and given the reigns of the planning and execution to the next group of organizers.

"I want to thank all the wonderful friends that have supported this event for 19 years. I have dear and cherished memories of the times I was able to enjoy the friendship of the musicians and volunteers. It has been my privilege to work to bring this event to Bell County", said Mrs. Ray. "I am also looking forward to next March and being in the audience for another concert and dance at the Texas Western Swing Showcase".
